About
About Reveal Recipe
Reveal Recipe is a free recipe extractor and personal cookbook. It exists for one reason: when you open a recipe, you should get the recipe.
Why we made it
Recipe pages have become hard to cook from: autoplaying videos, pop-ups, a dozen ads and a long story before the ingredients. Reveal Recipe shows just the ingredients and the steps, then adds the tools you want at the stove: scaling, US and metric units, step timers, a hands-free cook mode, a cookbook, a shopping list and a week plan.
No ads, no account needed
Every feature is free. There are no ads on recipe pages and nothing to sign up for. If you want your cookbook on your phone and your laptop, you can sign in with Google; it's optional. Visit counts, when they are turned on, do not use cookies. Details are on the privacy page.
Your data stays with you
Your saved recipes, notes, tags, collections, shopping list, week plan and settings are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. There is no database of users. If you sign in with Google, a copy is kept in your own Google Drive so your other devices can sync it; we never see it. When you reveal a recipe, the server fetches that one page, reads its recipe and sends it back to you; it keeps a short-lived copy only to answer repeat requests quickly. The privacy page has the details.
Credit where it's due
Recipes belong to the people who write them. Every recipe in Reveal Recipe shows the site and author it came from and links back to the original page, and we only show the recipe itself. Reveal Recipe doesn't republish or host other sites' recipes; it shows you the recipe you asked for.
Accessible by design
Reveal Recipe aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA: it works with a keyboard and screen readers, respects reduced-motion and high-contrast settings, and offers light and dark themes. If something doesn't work for you, please tell us through Digital Designs Now (opens in a new tab).
